Officer shot, suspect dead in D.C.’s Trinidad neighborhood

WASHINGTON – A police involved shooting Tuesday night left a suspect dead and an officer hospitalized in D.C.

Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 1300 block of Queen Street Northeast in D.C.’s Trinidad neighborhood just after 9 p.m.

“Not a lot of details yet about what all started this but both sides fired at each other before it was all over,” ABC 7’s Tom Roussey told WTOP.

The officer’s condition isn’t known, but he was conscious and breathing when transported, police tell WTOP.

Just before 4 a.m. Wednesday, police confirmed with WTOP that the suspect died at the hospital of his injuries.
