Police: Woman dies after wrong-way crash on I-270

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Maryland State Police say a Germantown woman has died after a crash involving a car traveling the wrong way on Interstate 270.

Police say a Honda Accord was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-270 in Gaithersburg on Tuesday night when it hit a northbound Mercedes SUV. Police say the 25-year-old woman who was driving the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 38-year-old woman from Clarksburg was taken to Suburban Hospital, but no information was available about her condition.
