Biker caught going 130 mph serves 15 days in jail

ROANOKE, Va. (AP) -- A motorcyclist who served 15 days in jail for driving 130 mph on an interstate in Roanoke wants others to learn from his mistake.

Joseph Dailey contacted The Roanoke Times (http://bit.ly/1a2Erjz) after completing his sentence this week.

The former motorcross racer says he was "just out joy riding" on Interstate 581 on May 21. An officer eventually wrote him a ticket for reckless driving.

Dailey was sentenced in Roanoke General District Court to 130 days in jail and was fined $1,300. However, a judge suspended 100 days and Dailey served less than the 30 days imposed due to good behavior. And $1,000 of his fine was suspended, too, although he still owes $411, which includes court costs.
