NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Virginia State Police say the commonwealth's attorney for the city of Norfolk has been arrested on a drunken driving charge.
Media outlets that Greg Underwood also was charged Tuesday night with refusing to take a breath test, driving through a work zone and possessing a weapon while intoxicated.
State police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Anaya says a trooper saw Underwood's vehicle exiting Interstate 264 through a work zone in Norfolk. Two other vehicles followed and all three were pulled over by the trooper.
Anaya says the arrest warrant for Underwood was filed in Virginia Beach due to a possible conflict of interest.
Underwood has been the commonwealth's attorney since 2009. He's running unopposed in next month's election.
