WASHINGTON (AP) -- A monthlong European arts and culture festival is opening in Washington with more than 200 free events and activities.
The Kids Euro Festival opens Wednesday and runs through Nov. 13. It will feature artists from the 28 countries of the European Union. The events are designed for children ages 2 to 12.
Organizers say it's the largest children's performing arts festival in the United States. The French-American Cultural Foundation oversees the festival.
Events will be held at venues ranging from the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage to National Geographic and the Strathmore arts center in Bethesda.
Performers also will visit area schools and libraries through partnerships with the District of Columbia and Prince George's County public libraries.
