LOVINGSTON, Va. (AP) -- A Lovingston woman has been indicted on felony murder and arson charges stemming from a fatal house fire in 2009.
Nelson County Commonwealth's Attorney Anthony Martin said Wednesday that Linda Campbell Blackwell also is charged with arson and obtaining money by false pretenses stemming from two other house fires on the same property. Those fires occurred in February 2012 and May 2013.
A Nelson County Circuit Court special grand jury handed up the indictments Tuesday.
Martin says the victim of the 2009 fire was James Shelton Sr.
Blackwell is being held without bond in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
The charges stem from an investigation by Virginia State Police and the Nelson County Sheriff's Office.
