Premature baby born after Va. crash dies

WASHINGTON – A baby born prematurely as a result of a car crash has died one day later.

The driver of the car, 44-year-old Abraham Aragon, of Manassas, also died. Fairfax County police say he was driving north in the southbound lane of the Fairfax County Parkway near Braddock Road shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.

Aragon’s car crashed head-on into a car carrying a husband and wife from Pennsylvania. The woman was pregnant.

Aragon died in the crash. The couple was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where the woman delivered her baby. Both parents sustained injuries but survived.

Police are investigating whether alcohol was involved in the crash.
