NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Federal prosecutors say an Eastern Shore drug dealer has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Officials say 41-year-old Jarrid Delmont Cropper was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Norfolk.
Cropper pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
Prosecutors say Cropper has sold cocaine on the Eastern Shore of Virginia since 1997.
He would travel to Norfolk to buy large quantities of cocaine and then break it down into smaller quantities and distribute it on the Eastern Shore. Officials say Cropper also used couriers to transport the cocaine on his behalf in an effort to avoid law enforcement detection.
