ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- Police say they've arrested an Alexandria man in connection with the violent rape of a college student 21 years ago.
Arlington Police say 50-year-old Stevie Brinson was arrested Thursday. Police say that in June they got a hit on new DNA evidence obtained in connection with the Jan. 28, 1992 rape.
According to police, Brinson posed as a maintenance worker to gain access to the woman's apartment in the 2000 block of North Adams Street in Arlington. Then, once inside, he allegedly pulled a handgun and demanded money. Police say he forced the woman into her bedroom, bound her hands and raped her at gunpoint.
Brinson is being held without bond. He did not appear to have a listed telephone number.
