WASHINGTON (AP) -- Howard University has won an annual football game against Morehouse College.
The Howard University bison beat the Morehouse College maroon tigers with a score of 27 to 16 on Saturday at RFK Stadium.
This is the third time the two historically black colleges have faced each other since the tradition of an annual contest resumed in 2011 after a 14-year break. Howard has now won the last three games.
The first time the schools played was in 1923, and the games were annual in the late 1950s and 1960s. They were annual again for a time during the 1980s and 1990s.
Both schools were founded in 1867. The all-male Morehouse is in Atlanta and has an undergraduate enrollment of more than 2,000. Howard's campus is in northwest Washington.
