Family’s home burglarized while attending father’s funeral

WASHINGTON — The family of a firefighter who died in a car wreck last week came home from the funeral on Wednesday to find their home had been burglarized.

NBC4 reports D.C. firefighter Terrence Boston, who was killed while riding his motorcycle on Old Branch Avenue in Temple Hills, Md., left behind his wife — a Fairfax County firefighter — and six children.

The family’s Prince George’s County home was burglarized while they were at Boston’s funeral and nearly all of their valuable were taken, NBC4 reports. The family believes they were targeted by someone who knew they wouldn’t be home at the time.

“It’s as low as you can get. The family’s already suffering,” D.C. firefighter Ed Smith told NBC4. “… absolutely disgusting.”

D.C. Fire and EMS have established a college fund for the youngest of Boston’s children. Click here to contribute.
