GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- A Bowie man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for a mortgage fraud scheme that cost lenders nearly $6 million.
Thirty-nine-year-old Daniel Ofei was also ordered to pay restitution at sentencing Tuesday in federal court in Greenbelt.
According to his plea agreement, Ofei, a licensed realtor, conspired with others to use straw buyers in the purchase of dozens of homes using false information.
