COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Police are investigating after a University of Maryland student was injured in a fight near campus.

Police say they were called to the 4600 block of College Avenue early Saturday and that when officers arrived they found a University of Maryland student with a cut on his upper body. Police say a preliminary investigation suggests the victim and suspect argued and that the fight became physical. During the fight, the suspect cut the victim with a sharp object and then ran away.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment but has since been released. Police did not release the name of the victim or suspect.
