HANOVER, Va. (AP) -- An October sentencing is set for a Gum Spring woman who pleaded no contest to embezzling more than a half million dollars from her employer.
Barbara Gail "Bobbie" Mayhew entered her plea Wednesday in Hanover County Circuit Court. She's scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 22.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/19jVUH8 ) reports that the 56-year-old Mayhew's attorneys told the court that she has health issues. They will seek to have her serve her sentence at home.
Prosecutors say Mayhew embezzled the money from Ashland-based Adams Marketing Associates while working as the firm's accounting manager.
