SNOW HILL, Md. (AP) -- A man accused of the 2012 murder of a Maryland church worker will face charges in Delaware, not Maryland where he was previously charged.
The Delaware State Police says 29-year-old Matthew N. Burton of Dagsboro will face murder and other charges in the death of 35-year-old Nicole Bennett of Millsboro. Bennett was found dead in Maryland's Worcester County in June 2012, and Burton was previously charged there. But an investigation found evidence indicating the crimes were committed in Delaware.
Maryland has dropped its charges, and Burton will be extradited to Delaware.
Bennett's husband reported her missing to Delaware State Police on June 15 after she didn't return home from her job at a Gumboro church, where Burton worked as a custodian.
