VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- A couple has pleaded guilty to murder and other charges stemming from the slayings of two brothers at a Virginia Beach fast-food restaurant.
Media outlets report that Deandre Dunnaway of Virginia Beach was sentenced Monday to life in prison without parole after he pleaded guilty to capital murder, robbery, conspiracy and firearms charges.
Dunnaway's girlfriend, Cheari Edwards of Virginia Beach, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, robbery, conspiracy and firearms charges. She's scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 18.
Prosecutors say Dunnaway and Edwards fatally shot Alphonso White and his brother, Michael A. Johnson, during a robbery at a Rally's in January. White worked at the restaurant.
