CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- State Alcoholic Beverage Control officials are reviewing the arrest of a University of Virginia student who bought bottled water and tried to flee agents cracking down on underage alcohol possession.
Prosecutors dropped felony charges Thursday against 20-year-old Elizabeth Daly. The charges included two counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer and one count of eluding police.
Daly had bought a carton of water, cookie dough and ice cream at a Charlottesville store on April 11. ABC spokeswoman Kathleen Shaw says a plainclothes agent conducting a sting suspected Daly had a case of beer and identified herself to Daly.
Daly drove off in her vehicle, and the ABC says the SUV struck two agents.
The Daily Progress (http://bit.ly/13d6lx9) reports Daly says she and her roommates were "terrified" by the incident.
