Ex-teacher arrested for alleged sexual abuse of former student

WASHINGTON – A former teacher at a Christian school in Prince William County has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a student over 30 years ago.

Police say Karold Stallard, 77, of Earlysville, Va. is accused of abusing a female student between 1982 and 1987. She was 12 years old when the alleged abuse began.

Stallard worked at the Evangel Christian School in Woodbridge at the time.

Police say the abuse was apparently reported to the school at the time but never reported to police. After an internal investigation, school officials did fire Stallard, police say.

By law, the incident should have been reported by the school to police but school officials can’t be charged now because the statue of limitations has lapsed, police say.

The school is kindergarten through 12th grade.
