ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A woman accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter and putting her body in a trash bin has been found incompetent to stand trial.
Twenty-five-year-old Chelsea Michelle Booth of Annapolis will stay at a state psychiatric hospital. She had been committed without bail to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for treatment and examination.
Booth's daughter, Kassidey, went missing in February. Police say Booth told them she lay on top of her daughter and smothered her, then disposed of her both.
According to The Capital of Annapolis (http://bit.ly/12WbPvS), court records indicate Booth believed Kassidey was cursed and possessed by an evil spirit.
In March, Booth's public defender entered a plea of not criminally responsible on her behalf.
A review hearing on Booth's competency is set in December.
