Bull blamed for Va. farmer's death

Tuesday - 6/18/2013, 6:18pm  ET

GROTTOES, Va. (AP) -- The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office says a 59-year-old Grottoes farmer was fatally trampled by his bull.

Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson said Sam Saufley was found by family members Saturday night. The enraged bull was nearby and it had to be shot and killed before they could approach Saufley.

Hutcheson told the Daily News Record (http://bit.ly/18Xwn9q) investigators can't recall a similar incident locally.

Of the 11 farm deaths in Virginia in 2012, all were attributed to machinery.
