FINKSBURG, Md. (AP) -- A swim school is temporarily closing a Finksburg pool after the Carroll County Health Department announced it had been operating for more than a year without a valid permit.
Kids First Swim School officials say there is nothing hazardous about the pool, but they're closing after some customers decided not to return until a permit was granted.
Violations received over the course of 15 months include allowing an uncertified person to operate the pool. Swim school officials agree that the level of combined chlorine is above the limit, but they tell the Carroll County Times (http://bit.ly/1bNqRm2 ) there's no health hazard and the limit is set too low.
The school with more than a dozen locations plans to ask experts to identify potential solutions.
