DOVER, Del. (AP) -- Officials in Delaware and Maryland are urging residents to prepare for severe weather.
National Weather Service officials say severe storms expected Thursday could bring heavy rain, large hail, damaging winds and flooding to the Delmarva peninsula. Forecasters also say the storms could lead to isolated tornadoes.
Delmarva Power says it gearing up for a storm response and is advising customers to check their emergency supply kits and be prepared in case they lose power.
The Delmarva Emergency Task Force, which includes emergency response agencies from Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, canceled a scheduled tabletop exercise in Georgetown on Thursday because of the potential for severe weather.
