PETERSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Fort Lee says its Independence Day celebration will be scaled back this year.
Garrison commander Col. Rodney D. Edge says Fort Lee had to identify ways to keep costs to a minimum for the July 4 event.
The Fourth at the Fort event at Williams Stadium in Petersburg will include music by the 392nd Army Band followed by a fireworks display.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Some attractions such as a children's play area won't be offered this year, but food and beverage vendors will be available.
