TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Baltimore County police say a man has been charged with stabbing a co-worker at the Sheraton hotel in Towson.

Police say 28-year-old Derrick Newman stabbed the male co-worker in the head with a pocket knife during an argument Saturday night. Police say the two were arguing in an elevator over Newman having taken beer from a cart the victim was using.

Newman was arrested after a brief foot chase. During the chase, police say he dropped a bag containing a handgun and drugs.

Newman is being held without bail.
