CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Charlottesville soon will be home to a full-scale replica of the 800-year-old labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral in France.

The labyrinth commissioned by Unity of Charlottesville will be named the Shalom Labyrinth in memory of longtime Unity member Shalom Vegodsky.

Unity says on its website that master labyrinth builder Robert Ferre and his wife, Linda Ricketts, will work on the project from May 20 through May 27.

The labyrinth will be open to the Charlottesville and Unity communities.

The Chartres Cathedral labyrinth in Chartres, about 60 miles southwest of Paris, was constructed around 1200.
