VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- Activists opposed to energy drilling off Virginia's coast are planning their 4th edition of "Hands Across the Sand."
The Sierra Club, Chesapeake Climate Action Network and Oceana are among the organizers of the event Saturday at Virginia Beach. They say they've organized hundreds of Virginians to line up in the sand along the oceanfront of the resort city to demonstrate their opposition to drilling and their support for offshore wind.
Participants will line up along the shore for 15 makes to make their point. The event was launched after the Gulf oil spill disaster.
