WASHINGTON — All lanes of Interstate 95 and the Inner Loop have reopened after portions were shut down on Tuesday.
In Maryland, all lanes of the Beltway’s Inner Loop were closed around 2 p.m. after Old Georgetown Road and before Route 355 after a tractor-trailer jackknifed, resulting in a fuel spill.
For a time, traffic was diverted onto Old Georgetown Road because of a second accident in the same area.
As of 3:15 p.m., one lane had reopened and traffic was squeezing by.
All lanes were opened around 4:45 p.m.
In Virginia, all main lanes of southbound I-95 were shut down after a multi-car crash shortly before 2 p.m. The crash, reported shortly before 2 p.m., occurred near exit 156 after Dale City but before Dumfries.
A separate crash in the Express Lanes had reduced traffic to one lane for a time.
All lanes have since reopened.
WTOP Traffic is tweeting updates on both major incidents, as well as others throughout the region.
