Look up overnight for a chance to catch a meteor shower

WASHINGTON – It happens every year when the earth crosses the path of Halley’s Comet. The Eta Aquarid meteor shower is expected to produce the greatest number of meteors in the pre-dawn hours of Sunday and you should be able to see them no matter where you live.

If you miss the meteor shower early Sunday, there’s a chance to catch it again.Earthsky.org says before dawn Monday could be a good time to experience it as well. There could be 20 to 40 meteors an hour. The media shower is actually made up of bits and pieces of the comet.

So find a dark open section of sky away from artificial light and as the sky puts on a lightshow tonight just pull up your lawnchair.
