SUSSEX, Va. (AP) -- Virginia has recorded its second hunting fatality of the year.
Department of Game and Inland Fisheries Conservation Police say 46-year-old Kevin Brooks of Virginia Beach was shot to death Wednesday while turkey hunting near Waverly.
Lee Walker of the game department tells The Virginian-Pilot (http://bit.ly/1315GLZ ) that Brooks was hunting with 70-year-old Raymond Weidner of Virginia Beach. Walker says that after the two separated, Weidner saw movement and misidentified his target, fatally shooting Brooks.
An investigation is continuing.
The first hunting death occurred on New Year's Day in Carroll County, when a man was shot accidentally by his young son.
