D.C. United stadium deal in the works

Allen Lew, a top official in Mayor Vincent Gray’s administration, said a plan is in the works for a deal with D.C. United to build a new stadium for the team on Buzzard Point in Southwest D.C., The Washington Post reported.

Lew said in an interview last week that after repeated meetings with the team’s new ownership and other stakeholders, he hopes to have the framework for a deal to build a new stadium “inside of a year.”
