HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) -- Rockingham County Circuit Court is preparing to launch a system that will allow users of its deed room to submit documents electronically.
The court is partnering with e-filer Simplifile to provide the service. The Simplifile system will be available beginning Tuesday.
Court clerk Chaz Evans- Haywood tells The Daily News-Record (http://bit.ly/ZvcdbT ) that documents can be filed around the clock.
He says users will pay a fee to Simplifile that will vary depending on the document that's submitted. He says e-filing could cost less than what courier services charge.
Court officials are evaluating options to possibly expand electronic filing to other documents. But there are concerns about how sensitive information in such documents would be handled.
