WASHINGTON - Arriving late to a Nationals baseball game because of heavy traffic can spoil the fun.
Fortunately, there are several bus services available that can take baseball fans directly there.
The DC Hopper provides shuttle bus service to weekend games from Bethesda, Md., according to operator Brandon Yu. If customers reserve bus tickets online in advance, they are guaranteed a seat, no matter how bad the crowds are.
"This Nationals bus is geared toward everyone -- kids, adults, whoever, families," Yu says. "We want to just be able to provide that safe, convenient transportation."
For those coming from Northern Virginia, there is Ballpark Bus, a shuttle bus service from Ashburn, Va.
There are two water taxis that dock near the ballpark, and a Nationals spokeswoman says the taxicab stand at M and Half Streets SE is beefing up its staff this season for smoother operation.
If people do decide to drive, checking the parking options online ahead of time can save time and money, especially if there are new neighborhood developments.
