OCEAN CITY, Md. - State Sen. James Mathias is being credited with the arrest of a man on theft charges after Mathias saw the man acting suspiciously in his Ocean City neighborhood.

Mathias, a Democrat and a member of the Senate since 2011 and a member of the House of Delegates before that, said he followed the man in his car for a short time and called police.
Police arrested 21-year-old Matthew Jacob Bullen and charged him with theft and tampering with vehicles. Police learned Bullen had broken into three vehicles and had taken items from them.
