CATONSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- State police say a woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver after she stopped her pickup truck on the shoulder of the Baltimore Beltway in Catonsville.
Police say the body of 62-year-old Judith Hill of Halethorpe was found along the center median of Interstate 695 shortly before 7:30 Thursday morning.
Police aren't sure why Hill stopped her truck on the shoulder but say she was hit shortly after she stepped out of the vehicle. The vehicle that hit her didn't stop. Investigators believe the crash occurred around 5 a.m.
The inner loop of I-695 was closed for several hours in the area of Edmondson Avenue while police investigated the crash.
