LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Two Lynchburg men face capital murder charges stemming from separate slayings in Campbell County.
The News & Advance (http://bit.ly/X2XkxL ) reports that a grand jury charged 50-year-old Vincent Earl Spinner with capital murder, second-degree murder and robbery on Monday. The Lynchburg man is accused of killing his father-in-law, 89-year-old James Payne, last August.
Twenty-six- year-old Anthony Witt also was charged with capital murder, second-degree murder and robbery. He is accused of killing 53-year-old Barbara Martin last August.
Commonwealth's Attorney Paul McAndrews filed notice Monday that he plans to seek the death penalty against Witt.
