Arlington crash leaves one dead, two injured

WASHINGTON – A 21-year-old man was killed after the car he was driving hit a curb and flipped over just after crossing the Key Bridge into Arlington, injuring two other passengers.

Arlington County police spokesman have identified the driver as 21-year-old Sami Ullah of Leesburg, Va. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Another man of the same age was ejected from the car and was unconscious. He later regained consciousness and was transported to a hospital. The third passenger, a man in his early 20s, was able to get out of the car. He was also taken to the hospital.

Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck estimates the 2008 BMW was going 80 to 90 mph as it crossed over the Key Bridge when it hit a curb. The vehicle rolled 4 or 5 times before finally coming to a stop near Lee Highway and Fort Myer Drive around 5 a.m.
