NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- A former Norfolk Community Services Board administrator has been indicted on a felony embezzlement charge.
The Virginian-Pilot reports (http://bit.ly/Wv3E6l ) that a grand jury indicted 61-year-old Brenda Wise on Wednesday. If convicted, she could be sentenced up to 10 years in prison and fined up to $100,000.
Wise was director of administration while suspended CSB employee Jill McGlone continued to collect pay and benefits for 12 years without working.
A separate, special grand jury issued a report in December saying Wise had the authority to eliminate the administrative pay, reinstate McGlone or terminate her employment, but failed to do so. Wise's attorney, Andrew Sacks, said at the time that his client did nothing criminal.
