No more smoking at Orioles or Ravens games

BALTIMORE – Don’t expect to smoke at Orioles or Ravens games.

The Maryland Stadium Authority will prohibit smoking inside stadiums at the Camden Yards Sports Complex.

A spokesman for the authority said Monday that the rule will take effect March 4 and will apply to all games and events held within Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium.

Previously, there had been designated areas within the stadiums where patrons could smoke.

The Stadium Authority spokesman said the Ravens will make accommodations for fans by allowing patrons to leave the stadium, smoke in a designated area, and go back inside.

The Orioles are expected to announce a similar policy before Opening Day this spring.
