Wednesday - 2/13/2013, 2:04pm  ET

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- A 2014 trial is scheduled for a man charged with killing an off-duty Norfolk police officer in Virginia Beach.

Raymond Perry is charged with capital murder in the October 2010 fatal shooting of 25-year-old Victor Decker.

WVEC-TV (http://bit.ly/WJbd7H ) reports that Perry waived his right to a speedy trial during a hearing on Wednesday. His trial is set to begin Feb. 25, 2014.

Virginia Beach prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty in the case.

A preliminary hearing for co-defendant Kareem Turner is set for March 14. Turner is charged with second-degree murder.
