WAYNESBORO, Va. (AP) -- An old ice plant in Waynesboro could get a new life as an apartment building.
Media outlets report that Charlottesville-based Blue Springs Development plans to convert the former Cassco Ice Plant to apartments. The project also includes a rooftop restaurant and meeting space on the ground floor of the seven-story building.
The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development awarded a $300,000 grant to help pay for the project.
Waynesboro director of planning Michael Barnes says construction could begin in 2014.
