HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Hagerstown officials are considering a proposed redevelopment concept for the former Washington County Hospital properties in the city's East End.
Meritus Health owns the largely vacant tracts of land. The Herald-Mail ( http://bit.ly/VrA29l) reports the company unveiled its initial plan at a meeting in November, calling for two large office and medical buildings, 69 town houses, a public park, retail and office space and two warehousing facilities.
A public meeting will be held Wednesday night at City Hall on the proposed plan. Meritus Health will present its plan to the city's planning commission and to the public to hear feedback.
When the plans first began taking shape, officials called the properties the eastern "gateway" to the city. Meritus says it will use public feedback to shape its plans.
