Audubon Society counting birds along C&O Canal

SHARPSBURG, Md. (AP) - It's time to count birds along the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal.
The District of Columbia Audubon Society says it's doing a midwinter bird survey Saturday morning along three miles of the C&O Canal National Historical Park towpath near Sharpsburg.
The survey is designed to provide a snapshot of the number and variety of birds in the park.
