CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A suspect in a Chesapeake shooting incident is dead after he wrecked his vehicle while fleeing police.
The Virginian-Pilot ( http://bit.ly/TUSe8l) reports that the wreck occurred early Monday morning.
Chesapeake police Detective Dorienne Boykin says the man matched the description of a person believed to have fired a gun at a residence late Sunday night.
Police saw the man's vehicle in the area where he lives and tried to pull it over.
The man's name hasn't been released pending notification of relatives.
Boykin says the investigation is continuing.
