CHEVERLY, Md. (AP) - With flu cases on the rise in the area and nationwide, local counties host vaccination clinics, some of which are free.
Prince George's County will offer free nasal-spray flu vaccines in Cheverly and Clinton on Monday.
Anne Arundel County will give away the vaccine at the Glen Burnie Health Center.
No appointments are necessary for the clinics.
State health officials say flu is widespread across Maryland, but there are signs it may be stabilizing. Most of the recent cases involve people over 65. Flu vaccinations are recommended for everybody 6 months or older.
In the District, eligible veterans can get free flu shots at the VA Medical Center until Jan. 25.
In Virginia, the Fairfax County Health Department offers flu shots and flu mist for $25.
