VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Regent University is warning the school community to be alert after coyotes were spotted near the campus.
WAVY-TV ( http://bit.ly/VL03yi) reports that the university issued an alert saying coyotes were sighted in a wooded area across from Regent Village, a student apartment complex.
Regent's alert says the Virginia game warden confirmed that coyotes are running in packs in the Virginia Beach area.
The university is asking people to stay out of wooded areas around campus and to be watchful of children playing outside in the Regent Village recreational areas. Also, children shouldn't be left unattended anywhere school property.
