WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police say a 28-year-old man has been charged with murder for the death of a Westminster man found dead on his back porch.
State Police say David M. Montgomery was charged with first- and second-degree murder for the death of 61-year-old Edward Zepp.
State Police say Montgomery was arrested by Anne Arundel County police at a convenience store parking lot Saturday afternoon. Officers arrested Montgomery without incident after receiving a report of an erratic driver.
Police in Westminster were called to Zepp's home around 4 a.m. Saturday and found him lying on the back porch with trauma to his neck. Investigators say the man lived alone in a downstairs apartment in the two-story home. Police say sounds of a struggle were heard from the victim's apartment overnight.
