BALTIMORE (AP) - A false fire alarm at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport resulted in the shutdown of the baggage area for Southwest Airlines and the delay of some flights.
The Baltimore Sun ( http://bsun.md/U5wzHE) reports the false alarm happened Sunday morning. Authorities determined there was no fire on the conveyor belt system that transports baggage.
A spokeswoman for Southwest, Katie McDonald, says flights were held in order to ensure travelers and baggage got on the same plane.
