ARBUTUS, Md. - Maryland State Police say one driver was killed and another hurt when a car on Interstate 95 became airborne, went over an overpass and landed on Interstate 195.
It happened Thursday morning in Arbutus. Troopers say 20-year-old Kenneth Kirst 3rd of Joppa was traveling north on I-95 when his car drifted onto the grassy median.
Police say Kirst's vehicle continued for more than 200 feet, hit an embankment and become airborne. Authorities say the car landed on eastbound I-195.
Troopers say Kirst's car struck a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Tristan Klein of Arbutus.
Kirst was pronounced dead at the scene. Klein was taken to Shock Trauma.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
