WASHINGTON (AP) - A first-time candidate for D.C. Council is making an early entry into the 2014 race.
Brianne Nadeau is running for the Ward 1 seat currently occupied by Councilmember Jim Graham. She would challenge Graham in the spring 2014 Democratic primary if Graham decides to run for a 5th term.
Nadeau says she's already raised $35,000 and is launching her campaign now because she's serious about winning. She says the ward needs new leadership. The public-relations consultant and former neighborhood commissioner will formally announce her candidacy on Wednesday.
