Va. woman charged with DUI after police car struck

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Charlottesville police say a driver has been charged after her car went through a stoplight and struck a police cruiser.
Police said Monday that 22-year-old Hope Herndon of Charlottesville was charged with driving under the influence and disregarding a traffic signal.
The Daily Progress ( http://bit.ly/UxvskO) reports the accident occurred at an intersection Sunday night. Both Herndon and the officer, who wasn't identified, were taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't considered serious.
Both cars were destroyed.
